Every wakeful step, every mindful act is the direct path to awakening. Wherever you go, there you are.

Marie-Ève Bonneau

Marie-Ève Bonneau, is a yogini and dance artist originally from Montréal who currently lives in Calgary. She holds a degree in Philosophy of Religion and Dance Studies from the University of Calgary with a focus on ritual, sacred dance, mysticism and yogic and tantric philosophy. She is a Registered Yoga Instructor and Performing Artist whose exploration of embodied presence includes studying and teaching hatha yoga, creative movement and sacred dance as well as exploring various forms of experimental breath and bodywork. She is the creator and director of Light*Seed. (www.lightseed.ca)

Constantly redefining the yoga playing field and incorporating various themes, spiritual ideas and creative imagination into the practice, Marie-Ève infuses her yoga classes with an alchemic mix of postures, movement, breath-work, mudras (hand gestures) and vocal toning to create a ritual of embodiment. As a holistic rebalancing and tuning of the human instrument, Marie-Ève enjoys sharing yoga and dance as sacred playtime and as an opportunity for students to reconnect with their essence and to the nectar of life that nurtures and sustains “joie de vivre.”

As a Performing Artist Marie-Ève’s work explores the mystery of the human condition and what it means to be alive. Her pieces are ceremonial works that aspire to reclaim and restore
a sense of sacredness to the body and to life as we live it. She has a passion for creating personal and public rituals that are relevant to modern living that help to enrich people’s sense of themselves by acknowledging the ongoing miracle of life.
