Like many of us Yoga found me - in 2002, I had signed up for hip-hop dance lessons only to discover it wasn’t for me, so I switched to an introductory yoga class. From the moment I stepped onto my yoga mat I knew there was more depth to this practice.

Yoga although at times a struggle, was teaching me so much about myself. As I practiced regularly, slowly the benefits appeared. I felt a shift in my being and dove deeper into my yoga practice; opening up to meditation I began to discover the inner-peace my yoga teachers had spoke of.

Yoga called to me for several years & I knew in my heart I wanted to devote more time deepening my practice. After years in a somewhat hectic advertising & marketing career, I listened to my inner calling and completed the Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Intensive and found my Guru – Rameen Peyrow.

Yoga has truly changed my life and provided me with the strength and patience required on the path of self-discovery. I believe yoga transforms us from the inside out. As a student and teacher of yoga, I find peace when I come to my mat everyday - even while in a posture that may be more challenging I feel gratitude to be present in that moment, experiencing the true essence and beauty of yoga.

For many of us, yoga begins with the Asana practice then shifts into something much more profound – I believe this shift is what keeps us coming back to our mats. I am grateful for the opportunity to share this beautiful Union of Mind, Body and Soul with others and my hope is to provide guidance to my students as they embark upon their own personal yoga journey.

Yoga continues to teach me and bring me to the present moment creating a feeling of peace. My mantra of “Peace, Patience & Practice” sings in my heart everyday and my wish is to sprinkle it throughout my asana classes.

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti
